I came up with an idea: I’d write little snippets in my “journal” every day and on Sundays I would proof and edit my entries for this week. When finished I’ll post them as a single collection… making daily jotting a weekly exercise.

After work Ashley and I met up at The New York Times building to go to the gdgt LIVE IN NEW YORK event. We got in as VIP/Press thanks to my wonderful connections at The New York Times. Ashley still complained about waiting in line! Honestly, she was joking; even though the line was a bit of a drag. We had a great time. Here’s my Twitter post of an image of the wine glasses that I drank Coca Cola out of. Classy, eh?

I think it’s bad that when I press ‘Ctrl+T’ my next keystrokes are ‘fac’. I then stop and realize I wasn’t even planning on going to Facebook.
Sunday, June 23rd
I was bad… didn’t have entries for Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Basically this weekend was a very lazy one. Ashley and I stayed in on Saturday. She watched tv while I played video games. We also ordered in! Haha, very lazy. To make up for Saturday we went out Sunday. We got lunch at the Shake Shack, a place Ashley and I love very much. I continued my experiment on finding the perfect combination there: turns out it’s a burger and a shroom burger together as one (i.e., the Shake Stack). Next time I’ll definitely know! After that we went and watched the movieĀ Bad Teacher. It was a funny movie, and we really had a good time watching the commercials and previews. Next week… Transformers! And then after that… Harry Potter!!!
A friend bought me Team Fortress 2 a few weeks ago but I’ve just finally been able to play it. Turns out I’m (according to my very biased opinion) a very good spy. And with the noobs that just got the game this weekend I average 80-100 points per match (as a reference most people average 40-50 points per match), with an all-time high record (all-time as in a few days!) of 200+ points in one awesome match. I usually rank 1st in points in a match, if not globally then at least on my team.
I also like playing Medic and Engineer. Those are a fun change of pace, but I definitely spend about 80% of my time as a spy. When my friend Joe plays as Heavy I usually roll Medic and back him up. Good teamwork there. If he’s on the opposite team he basically becomes my nemesis because he plays Pyro, the bane of my Spy existence. All that can change, however… as there is a fire resistant suit available for Spys in TF2 Beta, and if it ever makes it to mainline everyone not on my team is dead. It replaces my revolver but honestly I’d choose that suit over the revolver any day.
Well, that’s it for now. I ended up writing a lot more than I expected… but I guess I needed to make up for missing a few days. Time to get ready for this next week! It’s going to be really busy. I already have meetings, projects, and side-work set for me. And that’s only stuff for The New York Times! I’ve still got so much to do after work hours!
